A Sunny Day @ the Grey DC Market for Gourmet Cherry

So I started out Saturday night baking right before Saturday Night Live... It was a typical scene in the Gourmet Cherry kitchen...mixing bowls covering every countertop, pots on the stove top simmering with gooey spiced rum sauce and the air was filled with sweet smells of pound cake & vanilla bread pudding....Fast forward 6 hrs later, it's 4am, my eyes are bloodshot, sweet smells lingering and a PX90 informational was coming on I was continuing to prepare for Grey DC Market.

But all the hard work and lack of sleep paid off as Gourmet Cherry's first market was a smash success!!   The feedback, smiles and ohhs and ahhs were all that I need to see/hear to come to this conclusion.  We sold every Mini & Biggie Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding and the response to the "British" Pound Cake was great as well..

check out the bag....

Thanks to Maya and the team at Grey DC Market for putting on such a great event along with Ari and Darren of Kushi for hosting.  And last, but definitely not least, THANK YOU to everyone that stopped by the table, had a sample, added their name to our weekly newsletter and picked up a dessert to bring home (or eat on the way home)....

British Pound Cake & Grey DC Market - This Week

Calling all Sweet Fanatics!

The forecast for this week is calling for snow - but that will not stop us from baking up "another bad creation" from the Gourmet Cherry kitchen.   We shall be introducing the new "British" Pound Cake for your tasting pleasure.   Our British Pound Cake is moist, buttery and goes perfect with a cup-o-tea or a tall glass of milk (my preference).

The "Queen"would be proud of this cake....

We shall begin taking orders next week for our British Pound Cake and Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding but you can get a taste this week at the Grey DC Market where we shall have a booth set up on January 30th from 12 - 5pm selling our desserts.

You can sign up for the Grey DC Market by going to the link here http://www.greydc.com/.   The Grey DC Market will be hosted this week at:

Kushi Izakaya & Sushi Restaurant
465 K St NW
Washington, District of Columbia 20001

Hope to see you soon!

Recovering from the Holidays - But no time to rest!

Happy New Year!!!

Wow - so I have finally came up for air after an extremely busy holiday season.  Since the last week in November through New Year's Eve, Gourmet Cherry was busy in the kitchen sifting, mixing and baking Vanilla Bread Pudding orders.   I have to thank everyone for their words of encouragement and the positive feed back on how much YOU enjoyed the Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding.  I really appreciate it.  Although the Gourmet Cherry brand is fairly young, it has already become a common name around the dessert table and has received praise on blogs and radio shows.

I have plenty in store in 2011 with a spanking new website, more desserts and much much more to come...so stay on the look out for the email and check back periodically to the "Indulging in the Sweet Life" blog.
